Thank you for your generous donations to the #WinLikeAGirl Operation Dress Code event on October 11. All donations collected at the Sacramento #WinLikeAGirl event will be distributed on November 4th, at the 4th Annual Operation Dress Code boutique event in San Diego. We are proud to be a part of helping women veterans #WinLikeAGirl in civilian life, and honored that so many of you joined us.
Now, as wildfires continue to devastate so much of California, #WinLikeAGirl is looking to help those affected by the disaster. Here are just a few of the ways you can help in the Sacramento area:
Check or gift card donations:
- Sacramento City Hall is collecting checks or gift cards for donation to multiple charitable organizations. Suggested gift cards include Costco, Home Depot, Target and other department/home goods stores. (Thank you, Mayor Darrell Steinberg and Kelly Fong-Rivas.)
Clothing and/or emergency item donations:
- Hook & Ladder is collecting assorted items at its restaurant at 1630 S Street in Sacramento for donation to shelters and charitable organizations. Donations are welcome after 11:30am Monday through Friday, and after 10am on weekends. Suggested items include: clothing, blankets, pillows, sleeping masks, soap and shampoo, feminine products, pet food, new underwear of all sizes, toothpaste and toothbrushes, baby formula, gift cards, and kids games and toys. (Thank you, Kimio Bazett.)
If you know of another donation location in your region, let us know and we will add it here.
Thank you for inspiring us to #WinLikeAGirl every day.
